Brief History

There was an effort made by a bunch of very concerned and eminent Medical Technologists from all over Pakistan in 2000-2002 to make a platform by the name of “Pakistan Society of Medical Laboratory Technology” for pleading the rights of Medical Laboratory Technologists in Pakistan, but it became quiescent due to limited number of professionals in the field of Medical Laboratory Sciences. Efforts were put up to revive the Pakistan Society of Medical Laboratory Technology by other groups of technologists in 2009 by making Yahoo group and website from different areas and thoughts for benefit of Medical Technologists but unluckily these were all of local area and of limited value.

In January 2010, some very senior Medical Laboratory Technologists/Scientists who have deep insight and believe in integrity and strength of unity arranged meetings and make every possible effort to provide a single united, representative platform for the Medical Laboratory Technologists/Scientists of Pakistan. The efforts of these highly qualified and experienced professionals resulted in fruitful outcomes and a Central Executive Committee (CEC) was selected on 25^th March 2010 with the consensus of all existing small and large groups. Pakistan Association of Medical Laboratory Sciences (PAMLS) is a name of association which was selected in 1^st CEC meeting and it is a first representative association for the professionals in the field of Medical Laboratory Sciences from all over the Pakistan.
